چکیده

The paper describes the technology of nickel-alumina composite coatings obtained by low-pressure cold spray (LPCS). content alumina reinforcement was optimized mixing commercial K32, being a mechanical mixture Al2O3 + 50 wt% Ni, with Ni-cladded powders developed in present study. cladded were prepared hydrogen reduction method. Two including Ni-films covering particles developed: 70 Ni (powder # 1) and 80 2). morphology powders, analyzed using scanning electron microscope (SEM), showed porous, cauliflower-like layer powder 1 dense nickel 2. measurements granulometry enabled finding size distribution pure having mean value about ?m which increased cladding to 65 mixed K32 sprayed LCPS onto mild steel substrate. microstructure characterized SEM, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDXS) backscatter diffraction (EBSD). graphical analysis coatings' cross-sections determining deposits. This from 7% 9–13% its mixtures 2 up 20–30% for 1. microhardness as well coating only slightly greater than HV 0.1 > 150. microhardnesses ? 200 reached K32. Finally, bond strength coatings, measured test ISO 14916, range 1.7 5.9 MPa. greatest

Bio-ceramic Composite Coatings by Cold Spray Technology

Bioceramics such as hydroxyapatite (HAP) have been conventionally deposited by plasma spray technique. However, due to the inherent high temperature in the plasma, deleterious effects such as evaporation, phase alteration, residual stress, debonding, and gas release etc., commonly occur in these coatings. This paper presents a novel approach to deposit bioceramic coatings at temperatures well b...

Plasma spraying of micro-composite thermal barrier coatings

The thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) by gas tunnel-type plasma spraying exhibited ceramic-composite features consisting of a host oxide matrix ceramic with an embedded second phase material. The densities of the composite TBC were found to be higher than those sprayed with 100wt% ZrO2 or Al2O3. In the coatings produced with powder mixtures of 50wt%, the embedded splats are found to have a relati...

Characterization and Optimization of Polymer-Ceramic Pressure-Sensitive Paint by Controlling Polymer Content

A pressure-sensitive paint (PSP) with fast response characteristics that can be sprayed on a test article is studied. This PSP consists of a polymer for spraying and a porous particle for providing the fast response. We controlled the polymer content (%) from 10 to 90% to study its effects on PSP characteristics: the signal level, pressure sensitivity, temperature dependency, and time response....

Plasma spraying and characterization of chromium carbide – nickel chromium coatings

Chromium carbide – nickel chromium powder Cr3C2-25wt.NiCr was plasma sprayed by a water-stabilized system WSP®. A series of experiments with variable feeding distance was carried out. Basic characterization of coatings was done by XRD, SEM and light microscopy plus image analysis. Microhardness was measured on polished cross sections. The main focus of investigation was on resistances against w...
